Monday, 19 August, marks one year since Haven went live! We can’t believe it’s already been 12 months. It’s been an exciting journey, and we’ve supported more than one hundred people with disabilities through our occupational therapy and support coordination services.
Our beginnings were extremely modest—we literally bootstrapped our way into business. Costs were kept to an absolute minimum, and we’re proud of this. We managed to create Haven without any significant financial investment upfront.
We feel honoured to work with such amazing people—our clients and their families, who have trusted and supported us. We’re also grateful for those who have referred others to us.
On Haven’s first birthday, we wanted to share our top 5 achievements:
Supported 114 Western Australians with disability.
Solidified Haven's focus, specialising in occupational therapy and support coordination.
Recorded our first podcast with Tony Hagan from Meet Max Power—we hope you enjoy listening to our voices more than we do! (Will link in next post!)
Launched Haven Hour, an online therapy group for people with psychosocial disability (we hope to resume sessions soon).
Partnered with Justine and Liam to help provide OT services to our growing caseload.
Looking back, it’s hard to believe that just over a year ago, we were burning the midnight oil, creating Haven. Were we nervous? Yes. Were we worried? Absolutely. But now, we can take a deep breath knowing that Haven is a safe place for us and for people with disability, and we plan on sticking around!
Special thanks to Erica for keeping Haven looking on point, and all she does behind the scenes!
We look forward to sharing more of our plans over the next 12 months as we continue to work towards creating a lasting impact.
Thank you for reading,
Rhys and Seb
